Training report

I love the organisation I work for (No bobo). For one, they send me for lovely trainings in and out of the country! And that was how they sent me, together with twenty nine other colleagues of mine, for a week training on Actualising Goals and Dreams at Four Points by Sheraton! Somehow, I knew how boring it will be listening to someone tell me stuff about iceberg and working more on things below the sea level bla bla bla but a week at Four Points by Sheraton felt like summer holiday in Dubai (Not that I've been there but I've heard some "shitless" girls compare it to heaven) I got there three months before my colleagues ( I'm sure you know when I'm exaggerating) I got all mushy just walking into Four Points by Sheraton. The reception, the lighting, the...the...the..awwwww! When I got to the training room, I wondered if it were my wedding! Ah ah! Maybe my husband (whoever that is) wanted to surprise me by inviting me to my wedding. The hall was p...

Another June 4 is here

Today, I go back in time To remember this man I understood more just close to his prime I remember the confidence The pride with no decadence Loved all, and all loved Even pets and livestock can testify After all, we spent some nights out with mosquitoes for their sake With the dog all over us like it’d seen playmates He was firm as he was kind Never did a wrong judgement give With him we knew laughter, smiles and fear And the spanks, no wear nor tear We put him to the test and still looked up to him Thus, we all turned out fine today We may not be standing at your bedside now Singing a happy birthday to you, mama’s wrapped gift tucked away at our backs But memories of the fondest relish we taste again Wishing we did it again and again For as long as we live to see another June 4 Not a perfect human but the perfect Papa for the Asogwas And a worthy spouse for Gold A priceless mentor that rocked our world with spicy moments Wisdom did not only build herself a ho...

I love my days

Its been pretty long and the last time was sad. Sorry guys. Didn't mean to spoil anyone's day! The day was really beautiful! Thankfully, all I've got to do was work half day ( it was a public holiday. Dunno why buh I'm grateful for it ) after which I'll go home for a well deserved sleep! I whistled all the way to work! Passengers in the same bus with me would think I won a lottery or better still, a husband! As I got to the office, I happily said hi to all the walls! I was just happy jare! Why wouldn't I? Four hours! That's all I needed! I finished in gud time and stepped out to head home. And that was when I saw him! Wow! Wow! Wow! You again! For six months, I've watched him walk past me every lunch time! Just for tiny seconds that mean the world to me! He's handsome! Oh la la! Wish you could see me as a write this cos I'm blushing down to my intestines! He's cute! His eyes reminds me of the ocean, beautiful and endless! H...

Rest in peace friend dear

Seven months 216 days Vividly, I remember Day to day happenings Like it were yesterday Beautiful at first Then the future crawled in My story I tell This way I know how For flashing moments I wonder What happened to you? You are an Anglican No, a Catholic Then a Muslim Two weeks later, a Rasta Take a stand, boy I will stand with you Go away Just say it Mountains of mole hills Please don't make Just say it Don't leave it all to me Just say it I don't love you no more Just say it, boy It would hurt Just say it anyway On a day so dear The day of my birth You sliced with your tongue All that I represent I listened without a word Say happy birthday That little one in me yearned You never did Was it your plan? Out of my shell you pulled Like a lion you preyed Your promises Were they all lies? In them I did believe I look back now with a smile What was I thinking? I heard, didn't heed You dropped me on thorns And watched as I...

Grrrrrrr!

The day wasn't supposed to turn out the way it did but it sure did! I'm not God and as a mere human, all I can do is pray to my God and hope for a good day!! It was one of those days I wake up and wish I didn't have to! Geez! My whole body ached! I didn't go clubbing, I didn't make midnight call (do people still do that?), I didn't do nothing! All I did was go to work on Monday morning, come back home on Thursday morning around 12am and climb the gate since Kabiru, the night watchman, sleeps at night too! That was all I did! I'm meant to be at work by 8am! I dragged myself off the bed! Can't remember how I prepared or how I chose what I wore! (Looking back now at how I dressed for the day makes me laugh uncontrollably! I think I heard a colleague ask in a whisper if it was rag day). Somehow, I made it downstairs to the car! From my house to the office, I slept like there was no night! Coming out from the car felt like tooth ache! Wished I could just ...

Forgive me but I couldn't help writing another traffic story! I just love Lagos traffic! I remember being asked to write an essay at a job interview and Lagos traffic was all I wrote about while others wrote stuff like the impending and humongous economic and political crises in Nigeria! Haha! My interviewers must be sillier than I am cos I got the job! So I got this job and they sent me on 6months training! It felt like it will never end! They taught me life application skills! Everything they taught were so true and painful but nothing my mum hasn't taught me! I just refused to apply them! Every morning, we were asked to tell how we applied what was taught the previous day! Haha! Thank God I'm a storyteller! Shey na story dem want?!! Hahaha! On a certain Wednesday, we closed 2hrs earlier than normal. It felt like a miracle. I felt like jumping up like a child that got to wear her Christmas dress that her mum bought on the 8th of December. To add to my joy, my broth...
