Today, I go back in time To remember this man I understood more just close to his prime I remember the confidence The pride with no decadence Loved all, and all loved Even pets and livestock can testify After all, we spent some nights out with mosquitoes for their sake With the dog all over us like it’d seen playmates He was firm as he was kind Never did a wrong judgement give With him we knew laughter, smiles and fear And the spanks, no wear nor tear We put him to the test and still looked up to him Thus, we all turned out fine today We may not be standing at your bedside now Singing a happy birthday to you, mama’s wrapped gift tucked away at our backs But memories of the fondest relish we taste again Wishing we did it again and again For as long as we live to see another June 4 Not a perfect human but the perfect Papa for the Asogwas And a worthy spouse for Gold A priceless mentor that rocked our world with spicy moments Wisdom did not only build herself a ho...
